Niagara Falls, Ontario sits on the Canadian side of the Niagara River, directly across from Niagara Falls, New York, and offers the classic postcard view of all three falls — Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls — side by side. The Horseshoe Falls alone sends more than 2,800 cubic meters of water over a 57-meter (188-foot) drop every second, making it one of the most powerful waterfalls in North America. Because the Canadian side curves around the falls rather than sitting beside them, it's widely considered the better vantage point, which is why most first-time visitors choose this side of the border.
Beyond the falls themselves, the surrounding area rewards a full day of exploring. Journey Behind the Falls takes you down through century-old tunnels to an observation platform at the base of Horseshoe Falls. Clifton Hill brings a lively strip of attractions, arcades, and restaurants after dark, while the Whirlpool and Niagara Parkway offer a quieter, scenic side of the region along the gorge. About 20 minutes north, the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake anchors Ontario's Niagara wine country, with dozens of wineries and one of Canada's best-preserved 19th-century main streets.
Most visitors base themselves in Toronto, about 90 minutes away by car, and do Niagara Falls as a full-day trip — which is exactly how Voyzo's private tours are built. Rather than a fixed bus itinerary, you get your own guide and vehicle for the day, so the order of stops, pace, and time at each viewpoint is built entirely around your group.

Late spring through early fall (May–October) brings the warmest weather and the fullest water flow. Summer evenings add illumination and seasonal fireworks over the falls. Winter is quieter and colder, but the ice-covered mist creates a striking, very different scene, especially around the Winter Festival of Lights (late November–January).
The falls, Clifton Hill, and Table Rock are all walkable along the Niagara Parkway. Niagara-on-the-Lake and the wine region, however, are a 20–25 minute drive north, and public transit between them is limited — a private vehicle or guided tour makes the day far more efficient than relying on local buses.
Expect mist near any of the falls viewpoints or boat tours, even on a dry day — a light rain jacket or poncho and closed-toe shoes are worth packing regardless of season. Summers are warm and humid; winters are cold with lake-effect snow possible.
Niagara Falls, Ontario and Niagara Falls, New York sit on opposite sides of the Rainbow Bridge. If your day includes both sides, you'll need a valid passport (or NEXUS card) — a driver's license alone is not sufficient for crossing between Canada and the US.
Canada uses the Canadian dollar (CAD); most US and Canadian card and mobile payments work interchangeably at tourist attractions here, though cash tips of 15–20% are standard at restaurants. You do not need to pay to view the falls themselves — the free viewpoints along Queen Victoria Park and Table Rock are some of the best in the region.
A single day is enough to see the falls properly, including a boat or Journey Behind the Falls experience. If you want to add Niagara-on-the-Lake wine tasting or the Whirlpool/Niagara Parkway drive, plan for a full 8–10 hour day rather than a rushed stop.
